Hirose CX70 Series Type-C Connector
Hirose has introduced a mid-mount USB 3.1 Type-C connector featuring a compact footprint and a depth of only 8.5mm. The shorter design creates additional PCB space for optimizing antenna design and allows for larger battery capacity.
The CX70 series USB 3.1 Type-C complaint interface connectors support 5 Gb/s for high-speed applications. This series also simplifies retrofit and repair operations by utilizing both SMT and through hole soldering. The hybrid design facilitates automated optical inspection and eases reworking of the solder terminal joints with a visible lead design. The Type-C connector also features a symmetrical mating design that allows for reversible plug insertion.
The USB Type-C interface offers customers a universal connector that is capable of twice the throughput of USB 3.0 with far more power. The small foot print and hybrid mounting design make the CX70 series an ideal choice for a wide range of consumer, portable and other devices that utilize the USB 3.1 capabilities for speed and power.
