Solid State Relays & Components
Solid State Relays (SSRs) are electronic switches that control electrical loads without moving parts. Composed of semiconductor devices, SSRs use optically coupled input and output to isolate control and load circuits. The input section typically employs an LED to trigger a photodetector, ensuring electrical isolation. This separation prevents interference and enhances reliability. SSRs utilize thyristors or transistors as the switching elements, offering fast and silent operation. Key components include the optocoupler, triac, or power transistor for AC loads, and MOSFETs or IGBTs for DC loads. SSRs find application in industrial automation, heating systems, and wherever precise and reliable switching is crucial.
