TurboFlex® Flexible Power Distribution Cables: Ultra-Flexible Power Distribution Cables and Turnkey High-Voltage Cable Assemblies with Glenair Signature Connectors
Power distribution cables present a unique challenge to electrical wire interconnect system engineers. Typically fabricated from stiff, non-flexible conductors and jackets with large bend extremely large bend radii, such cables are heavy, hard to route, and prone to insulation damage from weathering and abrasion. TurboFlex® power distribution cables — and complex high-voltage cable assemblies — are constructed from high strand-count rope-lay inner conductors made with tin, nickel, or silver-plated copper, nickel-plated aluminum, or bare copper. These highly-flexible conductors, combined with Glenair’s high-performance Duralectric™ insulation result in cables ideally suited for applications where flexibility, durability, and weight reduction are required. The signature Duralectric™ insulation compound provides outstanding resistance to temperature extremes, ozone exposure, caustic chemicals including jet fuel, gamma radiation, and other forms of environmental and mechanical damage. Long life and performance are critical in power distribution applications. TurboFlex, with its flexible conductors and Duralectric™ jacketing delivers both.
Features
- Ultra-flexible rope-lay power cable construction

SERIES ITS: MIL-DTL-5015 Type Reverse Bayonet Connectors
The Glenair ITS connector series features over 200 power and signal insert arrangements. Based on the MIL-DTL-5015 standard, ITS features an improved reverse bayonet coupling technology in place of the standard threads used in MIL-DTL-5015. The 3-point bayonet mechanism reduces coupling time and provides easier mating, especially when the connector is in an awkward position. Positive locking of the three stainless steel pins provides reliable resistance to vibration and shock, and prevents connector de-coupling in even the most rugged applications. Bayonet pins are protected from damage by their placement inside the plug coupling nut, and the receptacle’s exposed ramps are easy to clean in harsh environments. Extremely durable, the reverse bayonet coupling is rated up to 2,000 matings.
Features
- Fast, Easy Bayonet Coupling: 1/4 Turn
- Environmental and Non-Environmental Versions
- All Shell Styles: Plug, Square Flange, Jam-Nut, etc.
- High Shock and Vibration Resistance
- Contact Sizes from #20 to #4/0 in more than 200 Insert Arrangements
- Audible and Visual Coupling Indicators
- Keyed Polarization
- Solder, Crimp, PCB and Thermocouple Terminations

Download the Mighty Mouse Series 80 Connectors overview catalog
The Series 80 Connector was originally developed as a smaller and lighter alternative to D38999 connectors for aerospace applications such as attack helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles. Today, the Series 80 Mighty Mouse serves in thousands of safety-critical defense, medical, industrial and geo-physical applications.
The Series 80 Mighty Mouse connector is supplied in six standard designs, including Glenair’s most recent addition of Series 806 mil-aero micro-miniature connectors. These next-generation high-density connectors are half the size and weight of MIL-DTL-38999 Series III connectors while still meeting stringent requirements for harsh vibration, shock and environmental settings. The numerous design enhancements of this series include durable mechanical insert retention, radial seals and triple-ripple grommet seals. In addition, the connectors’ reduced thread pitch and re-engineered ratchet prevent decoupling issues, particularly in small shell sizes.
- Series 800 Light Duty UN Thread
- Series 801 Heavy Duty Double-Start
- Series 802 “Aqua Mouse” Harsh Environmental
- Series 803 Bayonet
- Series 804 Quick-Disconnect
- Series 805 Triple-Start
- Series 806 Micro-Miniature (NEW!)
We also carry Series 80 Mighty Mouse tools and accessories and Series 80 Mighty Mouse backshells and accessories.
All the connectors in the Series 80 family are available with rear-release crimp contacts or with PC tail or solder cup terminations. Shell styles, including in-line plugs, square-flange and jam-nut receptacles are available for all types. Integrated banding platforms for EMI shield termination or rear-end threads for backshell accessories are also standard throughout the line.
The Mighty Mouse features #23 contacts to accept #22 to #28 wire. Contact spacing is .076.” Size #12, #16 and #20 layouts are now available for higher current requirements and for coaxial and fiber optic contact accommodation. The smaller and lighter Mighty Mouse maintains the same approximate electrical and mechanical performance as larger and heavier Military Standard environmental connectors.
Insert arrangements are available for as few as 1 and as many as 130 contacts.
