Limit Switches
Limit switches are electromechanical devices used in automation and control systems to detect the presence or absence of an object and limit the motion of machinery. Consisting of an actuator and contacts, they activate or deactivate when the actuator reaches a predefined position. When the actuator makes contact, electrical circuits are either opened or closed, signaling the control system to stop or initiate a specific action. These robust switches ensure precision in positioning and contribute to enhanced safety by preventing over-travel or exceeding specified limits in various industrial applications, such as conveyor systems, elevators, and robotic arms.
