Having the ability to withstand higher operating temperatures allow FSB5 Series Connectors to be used in high-performance products. Increasing product densities and performance needs demand high operating temperatures, however many B-to-B connectors are only capable to withstand operating temperatures of a 105°C. Molex’s SlimStack 0.40mm B-to-B Floating FSB5 Series Connectors can operate at up to 125°C.

Often times it is difficult to avoid misalignment between boards and rigid B-to-B connectors. Floating-mating facilitates proper connections in the event of misalignment or blind joining.

Floating Range
The floating function is to prevent poor contact reliability and solder crack by absorbing misalignment occurring when fixing the PCB. FSB5 Series have floating structure in direction X, Y and Z. Each floating range is ± 0.50mm.
